Why Choose a Barn Wedding in Vermont
The Vermont Barn Wedding Experience
Vermont barn weddings offer something resort venues and hotel ballrooms can't replicate - authentic agricultural beauty, genuine rustic character, and connection to the land. Levity Mountain Farm isn't a barn built to look rustic. It's a working 200-year-old barn on an active organic farm where vegetables grow, orchards bloom, and the rhythms of farming life continue. Your celebration happens amid real Vermont agriculture, not a themed recreation. The combination of historic barn architecture, mountain views, open fields, and farm-fresh ingredients creates weddings that feel grounded, genuine, and unmistakably Vermont. Plus, weekend-long celebrations on a private 200-acre property mean your guests experience Vermont farm life, not just a few hours in a pretty space.
About Levity Mountain Farm
A Levis Family Farm
Levity Mountain Farm represents the next chapter in the Levis family's Vermont story. When Dr. Albert and Georgette Levis moved to Vermont in the 1970s and raised their family in Manchester, they planted seeds - both literal and metaphorical - that continue growing three generations later. Today, sons Oliver and Max Levis steward this 200-acre organic farm, sharing the same values of creativity, hospitality, and connection to the land that have defined The Wilburton for 36 years. The farm produces organic vegetables, maintains orchards, and bakes artisan bread - the same Earth Sky Time farm products that appear at Wilburton breakfast tables. When you celebrate at Levity Mountain, you're not just renting a barn venue. You're joining a family tradition of gathering people together, feeding them well, and creating memories that last lifetimes. This is Vermont hospitality at its most authentic.
The Historic Event Barn
200 Years of Vermont Character
The centerpiece of Levity Mountain celebrations is our 200-year-old event barn - a beautifully preserved agricultural building with authentic post-and-beam construction, soaring ceilings, and character that only two centuries of Vermont weather can create. The barn accommodates up to 175 guests with room for dining, dancing, and celebration. Wooden farm tables and chairs for 100 guests are included, along with basic serviceware (mason jars and silverware). Need seating for more than 100? We'll coordinate rental companies to supplement what's provided.
The barn sits adjacent to our ceremony lawn with Mount Equinox rising behind the altar area. Large barn doors open to pastures and fields, blurring the line between indoor and outdoor celebration. String lights, your choice of décor, and Vermont's natural beauty transform this working barn into your dream wedding venue.
Ceremony and Celebration Spaces
:Levity Mountain's 200 acres provide multiple ceremony and gathering locations. The ceremony lawn adjacent to the barn offers the classic Vermont wedding aesthetic - mountain backdrop, open sky, surrounding fields. Exchange vows while Mount Equinox watches over your promises, then walk directly to cocktail hour on the barn patio.
Our hidden upper field provides space for tented events if you want to expand beyond the barn or create separate cocktail and reception areas. The property features terraced meadows, gardens, orchards, and forests - endless photo opportunities showcasing Vermont's agricultural beauty. A pond reflects mountain light, stone walls mark historic property lines, and gravel farm roads wind through woods. Your photographer will have more stunning backdrops than time to capture them all.
